I discovered a great service for increasing traffic to a blog. And what is really great, is that this service is good for new blogs as well as for established blogs that get thousands of visitors a day. The address of the site that offers this service is entrecard.com.

So, what is entrecard? Entrecard is a system provides a small widget that when placed on your blog allows you to connect to other bloggers by visiting their blogs and dropping your cards. Every time you visit a blog and drop an entrecard you earn points. When you accumulate enough points, you can advertise on other blogs - your ad will be shown in the entrecard widget.

Other bloggers would also visit your blog to earn points; hence the increase in traffic and readership. They would also purchase (with the accumulated entrecard points) ad space in the entrecard widget that you placed on your blog. When the ad space is purchased on your blog, you get points. The amount of points is equal to the double of the average number of cards that are dropped daily on your blog in the last five days. To advertise on some popular blogs, such as John Chow blog, you will have to pay more than 400 entrecard points daily (it is quite possible to accumulate this amount daily if you will be regularly dropping cards on other blogs). Just think about the possibilities: you are able to advertise on some very popular blogs for free (of course you would need to spend some time accumulating points, so it is not entirely free).

Entrecard.com currently does not have any affiliate program, so the only way to earn points is by visiting other blogs. I love this program and from my server stats I can see that traffic to my blog jumped significantly after I started using it.

2. Entrecard rocks at sending traffic and more and more of it is converting lately. I think people who got onboard quick and left jumped ship too soon… but it’s still growing amazingly fast too.
