I read a piece today that stated the following:

Most articles written and published on the article directories are not worth reading. People glance over the article, do not find the information they were looking for and click the AdSense ads in hope to find a site that has more information on the topic.

This is a nice way of looking at article writing business LOL and I tend to agree with this point of view. Go to eZineArticles or GoArticles directories and read a couple of articles on the front page. You will quickly realize that those articles are just rehashes of what was published billions of times on the Internet.

The point is that article directories profit from publishing articles. They do all the SEO work and make sure that articles rate high in search engines. What this means to article marketers (us) is that we get free SEO services done on our articles and that we have to use them to our advantage.

Tips:

1. Write articles on popular topics and make them at least 500 words long.
2. Sprinkle the keywords you target thoughout the article and have the keywords in the article title as well.
3. Use the resource box properly. Most of article directories allow up to 3 links in a resource box. Have the first link pointing to a page that has related to the article topic information (it’d be best if you have some affiliate products listed on that page as well), have the second link to point to your other web site or a Squidoo lens, and have the last third link point to your blog. Remember the more links you have pointing back to your pages, the better your pages will rate with search engines.
